One of the many complaints that people have when using a hairdryer is the weight of the dryer. This is understandable because lets face it, people who have a lot of hair end up having to hold their dryer for longer periods of time. And, if you are styling your hair with a styling brush while drying your hair, it may take even longer. Just think about the hair stylist who is blowing out hair all day long! People who already have carpal tunnel type issues or tendencies also need to be mindful of what is not going to aggravate this further. Fortunately, the manufacturers of hairdryers have listened to the professionals and you can now find more of a variety of lightweight dryers, ergonomic handles, and even well balanced dryers. These dryers generally have the motor of the dryer centered to where the weight of the dryer is well distributed and there is less stress in whatever position you are holding it.
In choosing a hair dryer that is right for the type hair that you have it boils down to the wattage of the dryer. There are hairdryers that typically range anywhere from 250 watts to 2000 watts of power. Among these you will find hot air brushes that actually dry and style your hair, styler dryers that include comb and brush attachments, wall mounted dryers, hard and soft hat hair dryers, and your customary pistol grip type dryers. In conjunction with wattage, consideration needs to be made for the heat/speed settings that are included with the dryer.
The next set of things that you should always consider when searching for a new hair dryer are what I like to think of as the cupcake of the product. They are the foundation of any high quality blow dryer and you should never settle for one that does not meet certain requirements. This could include: the kind of heat generated by the machine itself, the amount of concentrated air flow the blow dryer emits, the type of hair or texture that the blow dryer is geared towards, the kinds of hair care related issues the dryer is meant to improve or create and any positive or negative reviews that you find about the hair dryer itself. You should try to find a model that emits a lot of heat, a steady air flow and maybe even one that focuses on improving your individualized hair type. For example: there are models that are made especially for cutting down on the frizz and static associated with people who have a finer hair texture. And steer clear of any models that have dozens of negative reviews. If a lot of people are saying that the hair dryer is cheap and not worth the money, you should listen to them.
The Wattage - ask your retailer how much electricity that the product will use, compare it with other products that are cheaper and much more expensive ones and see where you can save the most from your electric bill. The Weight - bear the products weight in mind at all times when buying a hair dryer. Remember that you will be holding the item up in your hand for a very long time, a heavy product would cause you to get tired much faster. Extra Attachments - think of how much you are getting. With your purchase look for high quality products that provide you with useful attachments like diffusers. However, if a product that you like doesnt come with any attachments, you can always purchase these items separately.
